The Spy x Family manga has reached a particularly difficult juncture as Anya Forger finds herself stuck in a major hostage crisis, and the new chapter in the series introduces a surprising wrinkle to the situation that followed the intense brawl from the previous chapter! The manga launched a dangerous new arc for the Forger family as Anya is now in some deadly trouble without either Loid or Yor being able to rescue her quickly, and thus had to work with the rest of her class in order to get out of the terrible situation they are now in.

As the newest chapter of the series begins right after, Anya’s powers come to an end by revealing a surprising bomb twist that fortunately removes immediate danger.
Why is Anya taken hostage?
Chapter 71 of spy x family Anya is picked up shortly after a bomb is tied to Anya’s neck, and the terrorists are revealed to belong to a group known as the Red Circus. It is revealed that Blackbell is moving quickly to save Becky, and even Yuri Briar finds out from the secret police that it is all going downhill. Fortunately, this means that it won’t be long before they somehow save Anya, but she is able to breathe easier much sooner.

Eventually, her mind-reading abilities reveal that the bomb around her neck is fake, as even the Red Circus group wouldn’t do it to children. They just need it to sound real to scare them to get them to act, and Anya is able to breathe a little easier. But as fans know, she quickly takes this too far and ends up so quietly that Damian Desmond ends up with him tied around his neck, too. Yet while she was in no danger from the bomb, Damien became a master hostage thanks to Anya’s actions.
